Brooks Kushman Shareholder, Frank A. Angileri, has been named a 2015 “Leader in the Law” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. Angileri will be recognized along with 30 other honorees at the 2015 Leaders in the Law award ceremony hosted by Michigan Lawyers Weekly on March 26, 2015 in Troy.

photo 5The American Cancer Society recently held its second-annual Southfield Corporate Relay For Life event at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) to support of the fight against cancer. Local businesses and professionals formed fundraising teams and collectively raised more than $20,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society!

This year’s Relay For Life brought together 12 teams for an afternoon of music, fun and exercise to celebrate those who have overcome cancer, support those who are still fighting the disease and remember those who have lost their battle. The event included speeches from LTU President Dr. Virinder K. Moudgil and Michigan State Trooper Andrew Lambert, who is now cancer free after receiving his diagnosis less than a year ago. read more

“The Role of Technology in Healthcare” is the topic of the annual President’s Symposium at Lawrence Technological University on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Matt Roush, director of communications and public relations for the Engineering Society of Detroit and the former technology editor at WWJ Newsradio 950. The panelists are:

The United States is joining an international student competition for robot design for the first time this year, and on Saturday, Sept. 27, Lawrence Technological University (LTU) will host the first-ever national championships to determine who will represent their country at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO).

The competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at LTU’s Don Ridler Field House, 21000 West 10 Mile Road, Southfield. The public is invited, and admission is free.

The Olympiad started in Singapore in 2004. This year nearly 20,000 middle school and high school  teams from 49 countries are participating. The winning teams from each country are invited to attend the World Robot Olympiad to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.  read more

The event features more than 20 restaurants and showcases the diverse culinary offerings throughout the Southfield area.
