Looking for a few New Year’s resolutions to commit to this year? Here are some ideas!

  1. If you or your loved ones did not have an annual physical in 2014, call now and schedule one for January 2015.
  1. If you fell off the band wagon when you put an exercise plan in place, consider just making time to WALK each day. 30 minutes of walking (even in (2) 15 minute periods) can help you move your heart health in the right direction! (Park further away/take the stairs at work/conduct a walking meeting at work)
  1. If you tried to make changes in what you are eating and serving at home and are looking for ways on how to enhance those changes…start now. CLICK HERE for tools and resources for cooking!
  1. Consider learning CPR – you never know when you may need it!  CLICK HERE for CPR tools and resources.

The American Heart Association knows that making life style changes is a marathon, not a sprint.  But, if you take one day at a time; make one small positive change a day – you will be taking steps in the right direction putting you and your family on the road to positive heart health!

You will be asked to register and then you will receive a link with posters, table tents, email messaging and much, much more!  You can use this as an awareness opportunity or an opportunity to start fundraising for the 2015 Metro Detroit Heart Walk.

Wednesday, April 1, 2015 –  National Start Walking Day!

On this day, employees are encouraged to wear sneakers to work and take at least 30 minutes out of their day to get up and walk.
