Brooks Kushman Shareholder, Kristin Murphy, will participate on a panel during the upcoming Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship (ACE) event on Jan. 30th in Livonia, Mich. Murphy’s panel will discuss the “top 10” breakthrough technologies that have solved difficult problems and driven innovation.

Murphy will join Michigan Technological University’s Jim Baker, Michigan State University Technologies’ Richard Chylla and Attorney Cindy Bott in a review of the top 10 breakthrough technologies during the first breakout session.

In addition to her work as an IP attorney, Murphy has worked as a project engineer for a manufacturing company, editor and adjunct professor. She is also the immediate past president of the Women’s Bar Association – Women Lawyer Association of Michigan, Oakland County Region and the current president of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association. She is a former co-chair of the Industrial Advisory Council for the School of Engineering at Western New England University and is a member of the Advisory Board for The Pink Fund, a Michigan-based charity that provides short-term financial aid to women and men who are in active treatment for and recovery from breast cancer (she was a member of the Board of Directors for several years).

The ACE event is the place where Great Lakes region entrepreneurs gather to network, learn and connect.
