Brooks Kushman P.C. – a nationally ranked intellectual property (IP) and technology firm – is pleased to announce that Isaac Slutsky has joined the firm’s Southfield, Mich. office. The announcement was made by Mark Cantor, president of the firm.

“Isaac has a significant amount of experience in computer science and will strengthen our firm’s reputation nationally,” Cantor said. “Isaac brings with him a unique combination of experience and he will be a strong asset to our growing patent prosecution team.”

Slutsky is one of four attorneys from Rader, Fishman & Grauer that has joined Brooks Kushman in 2013, including Kristin MurphyLinda Mettesand Rachel Smith. The addition of these four attorneys will had significant depth to the firm’s growing patent prosecution and litigation practice.

In his role, Slutsky will further strengthen the firm’s patent prosecution practice with his experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the computer science arena. Slutsky counsels clients across a wide range of industries including computer software, consumer electronics, automotive, telecommunications, and medical device.

Before joining Brooks Kushman, Slutsky served as an attorney with Rader, Fishman & Grauer in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. focusing on patent prosecution in the computer science arts. Previously, he worked as a software developer at Compuware, where he designed and implemented new product features. Slutsky also worked as an engineering assistant in combination with the local government for a non-profit safety organization collecting and studying traffic data.

Slutsky earned a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit and a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, United States Patent & Trademark Office and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Slutsky is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association and counsel member of the Michigan State Bar Information Technology Law Section.
