 Brooks Kushman is pleased to welcome Alena Vackova as its newest associate. Her expertise in patent prosecution and patent searching will benefit Brooks Kushman and its clients.

Prior to joining Brooks Kushman, Vackova assisted in all aspects of patent prosecution with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices as an associate at another Metro-Detroit based intellectual property law firm. In her position, she drafted and prosecuted patent applications in the chemical and mechanical arts for companies in the automotive, chemical, medical diagnostic, and packaging industries.

Vackova is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

She holds a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she was awarded the Distinguished Student Award and graduated magna cum laude. Vackova received a Master of Science in chemistry from Oakland University and Bachelor of Science in chemistry and materials technology from Tomas Bata University in Zlin in the Czech Republic. Alena is fluent in Czech and also speaks German.
